‘We need to do something’: Cleveland ISD hands out free Naloxone during town hall meeting amid reported drug overdoses

“Just in a few weeks of school starting, we’ve had several students who have overdosed on what we think to be fentanyl but we’re waiting on the results to come back from the lab,” said Assistant Superintendent Rebecca Sanford, Ed.D. “We’ve had to use Narcan, the life-saving drug four times here in the district, two of those students we actually had to use it twice,” Sanford said.

Cleveland ISD holding town hall meeting to address rising drug use in district

CLEVELAND, Texas – Cleveland ISD is holding a town hall meeting Wednesday to discuss rising drug usage in the district. The meeting will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cleveland Civic Center. The town hall will be held alongside community leaders and will address drug usage and fentanyl in the district and community.
