The M-COPE Overcomers Scholarship was created to recognize individuals who have faced the challenges of substance use—whether personally or through a loved one—and have shown resilience, strength, and determination in overcoming adversity. Open to those pursuing higher education, trade school, or certification programs, this scholarship supports continued learning in any field of study.
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: have a permanent or temporary address in Montgomery County, Texas, currently work in Montgomery County, Texas, or plan to attend a higher education institution, trade school, or certification program in Montgomery County.
The winner(s) will be announced at M-COPE’s annual drug awareness day event in August, and attendance of all applicants is encouraged. Past recipients may reapply, but relatives of founders and board members are not eligible. This scholarship is a tribute to those who have faced hardship and continue to strive for a better future!
The M-COPE Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to students who are dedicated to substance use prevention, mental health awareness, and community advocacy.
This scholarship is designed to recognize and support individuals who are making a positive impact by educating others, reducing stigma, and promoting prevention efforts.
Open to high school seniors, or individuals wanting to pursue higher education or certification in Montgomery County, Texas, the scholarship(s) helps recipients further their education while continuing their commitment to creating change. At least one scholarship will be awarded annually for a minimum of $2000. Additional scholarships may become available and awarded.
To be considered for the M-COPE Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a high school senior or any individual pursuing higher education.
- Reside in, work in, or plan to attend a higher education institution, trade school, or certification program in Montgomery County, Texas.
- Demonstrate a commitment to substance use prevention, mental health awareness, and community advocacy.
- Submit a personal essay explaining their experiences, advocacy efforts, and future goals related to M-COPE’s mission.
- Provide proof of enrollment or acceptance at an accredited college, university, or vocational school.
- Complete and submit the scholarship application by the designated deadline.
- Scholarship funds will be disbursed directly to the institution, and if enrollment details are not available at the time of application, they must be submitted to SarahH.mcope@gmail.com by September 15, 2025.
